The government is committed to supporting young people to move out of aged care.
If you are under 65 years of age and living in residential aged care or you support a young person living in aged care, we would like to hear from you.
What is this study about?
The aim of the research is to understand how the NDIS is supporting people to achieve their goals, particularly in relation to their housing needs and preferences. The research involves interviews with people living in aged care and their close others either by (phone or Zoom).
Why are we doing this study?
The introduction of the NDIS means that now people under 65 years of age living in aged care have more choice and control over their lives. This includes the choice of where to live and with whom. We are doing this research to find out more about the experience of living in aged care and how the NDIS is supporting people to achieve their goals. We will use the knowledge gained to improve systems and support.
Who do we want to take part?
If you are a person under 65 years of age living in aged care or someone who supports young people living in aged care (e.g., support coordinator, support worker, family member, guardian), we would like to talk to you. You do not need to have NDIS funding to take part in the study.
