The Summer Foundation has identified the need to connect and build relationships with the residential aged care (RAC) sector as a way of working with providers to achieve the Federal Government’s Young People in Residential Aged Care (YPIRAC) strategy.
The RAC engagement project started in August 2022 and was launched at the National Aged & Community Care Providers Association conference in October.
“Our project has been received well by RAC providers so far and we’re in the process of building alliances with some of the larger national RAC providers,” said Alicia Constable, the Summer Foundation’s RAC Engagement Coordinator.
“These alliances will help us work with RACs to actively support the YPIRAC strategy and build relationships between the Summer Foundation, the sector and YPIRAC.
“These relationships will also allow YPIRAC to learn about housing options available to them and to explore their housing goals, and aspirations.”
